These are statements that hold volumes of truth about your ability to achieve all you were meant to in this life. TAKE TIME TO READ THROUGH THESE AND PUT SOME POSITIVE CONSCIENCE THOUGHT TO THEM.
"AS A MAN THINKETH... SO IS HE" THE BIBLE
YOU WILL ATTRACT TO YOURSELF WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT, IT IS THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
FATE FAVORS THE PREPARED MIND
CONTROL THE MIND, THE BODY FOLLOWS, THEN THE WORLD
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
FIRST WIN IN YOUR MIND THEN YOU'LL WIN WITH THE BODY
"IF GOD BE FOR YOU WHO CAN STAND AGAINST YOU" THE BIBLE
LEAD BY EXAMPLE
DECIDE TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT OR WHAT IS WRONG. DO NOT SAY YOU WILL DO ONE AND THEN DO ANOTHER. IT WILL LEAD TO YOUR DOWNFALL
DO, OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY!
CODE OF HONOR:
WIthout a code to live by, without a God to serve, without a desire for justice, love, service, honor, and family, a person is nothing. We all should make it a point to create for ourselves a code to live by. Example of a code of honor to live by;
Be chivalrous, show love, for without love we are nothing
seek peace first
never betray those who love and trust you
act valiantly in the face of fear
give glory to God for the things your are blessed with
be a light in a dark place
help those who cannot help themselves, serve those who command a higher purpose, and lead those who need a leader
be a hero even when no one is looking, when no one will ever know, because God will always know
WHAT YOU MUST DECIDE TO DO TO PREPARE YOUR MIND:
Decide you are going to be disciplined in your training. "Always finish what you start"
Take responsibility for your actions. "you are no longer a victim of anything"
Decide to be a conquerer of all thoughts that limit your path to your goals. Your own thoughts will encourage you to victorious living or betray you to defeat. Choose what thoughts you allow.
Remember to Roll with the punches because challenges are going to rise up. "climb, go around, knock down, pull over, plow through, the thoughts, and outside obstacles that seem to prevent your success"
Be thankful for the things you were able to accomplish this day, an regret not that which you have yet achieved. That day is coming. Enjoy the journey. "this is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it." The Bible
Even when things look there worst, speak positive thoughts to yourself. Decide to tell yourself you can, even when the world and all since of logic says you can't. There is life and death in the power of the tongue! "God can make a way where there seems to be no way" The Bible
Discipline is a choice. Choose to remain disciplined in your thoughts. Your rising up or your falling down all begins with your thoughts, and they are a choice.
On your way to your goals expect huge roadblocks to be thrown in your path. Evil never rest, and often seeks to hinder your success. Know it may come, and mentally prepare yourself not to be destroyed by it.
Make large goals to work towards and small everyday goals you can accomplish. Plant seeds, cultivate the land daily and the crops will grow. Those seeds eventually become a crop.
Write down your thoughts and goals. Writing them down somehow makes your goals real to you. It obligates your mind to your soul in a way you can't dismiss. The reality that you made such a commitment now becomes self aware. Being accountable to yourself is the key to your goals. Write it down and post it somewhere you have to see it often.
Physical Training Develops Mental Toughness:
When you achieve goals during a challenging workout it also builds mental fortitude
Repeated training allows your mind to go beyond thinking it can do, to knowing it can do.
Physical strength reduces fear and intimidation often used by others to bully one into submission. A strong mind in a strong body makes for a formidable enemy to evil.
Spiritual Development is Key:
Though a few people in this world dismiss the spiritual realm as nothing more than a place in our own mind, the evidence and effect of our spiritual choices do exist. Every religious book on the planet speaks of a spiritual realm. Every aspect of the Bible deals with the physical and spiritual realm of people an their relation and interaction with God or the negative forces of evil. Your relationship an choices in these realms will effect your moods, accomplishments, feelings of peace, and interaction with other people.
The spiritual essence of developing the unbeatable mindset. Even in things as simple as your personal health you must be prepared mentally to have an unbeatable mindset. "If God be for us who can stand against us." God wants you to be healthy, an accomplish incredible things. Jesus said that he wants us to be in good health and prosper even as our soul prospers. Knowing God Himself wants you to accomplish great and good things. Tell yourself you cannot be beaten at the goals and task at hand. "No weapon formed against me shall prosper." The Bible
BUILD YOUR HOUSE ON A ROCK
Define your spiritual choice. Your spiritual choices will define who you are and what you will become. Choose well.
Know your enemy. Become aware of the world around you, your choices in it, and your effect upon it. Think about what you are given to think about.
Control your thoughts and emotions. Tell yourself what and how you are allowed to think about subjects. Ponder on negativity and you will become negative. Ponder on positive and you will become positive.
Knowledge is power. The information given to us in school, the news, or from commercials is not always true or beneficial. Seeking the truth about life defines our interaction with the world. Our control over our circumstances or its control of us.
Maintain Health and Strength. Without health you can do little in this world. Without strength evil will try to bully you into submission. How your body looks is a representation of such.
Fight the good fight. Have a reason for living. Have a cause to stand for. If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything.
The more you master these areas the greater service you can be to your family, your friends, your neighbor, your country, and your self.
Define your spiritual choice - "Choose this day whom you will serve" The Bible. In your mental training it is recommended you come to an understanding of who and what you believe in and how you are going interact with others. Are you going to pursue things in life totally for selfish endeavors, without a thankfulness to God, an irregardless of who it effects? Are you going to help your fellow man, be thankful and reverent of God, and conscience of how your actions make others feel? Choose what your point for living is?
Know your enemy - For some this system goes deeper than just a health program. It is about a rich an full life mentally, spiritually, and physically. Through exhausting studies it has become quite evident that the world, in part, is being grossly misinformed about health, fitness, spirituality, news, wars, education, money, politics, and relationships. When the most important aspects of your life are continuously bombarded with negative, and harmful misinformation, it is important to become aware of the agenda at hand. We must realize their is a force working to exploit and harm us through propaganda, and a force working to lead us to truth and well being. Knowing the tactics of an enemy keeps us aware, informed, and able to make good and healthy choices about our lives. For example; are fast food companies really serving anything healthy for you? Here the jingle. "La La La Yaaaa... our salads stay green and fresh for weeks, a freshness you can trust." Really, my fresh lettuce from the garden wilts in a couple of days. The chemical process that keeps that salad from wilting, what's it doing to your internal organs? So are their adds in your best interest or to line investors pockets? A video was on youtube that showed french fries from three of the leading fast food restaurants. They were left sitting out in the open and video taped at 30 days, 90 days, and a year. They never got moldy or decayed. Not even mold would grow on these french fries! Whats it doing to your body? Overweight America should be asking that question. Did you know government sources in the FDA started proposal that wanted vitamins and minerals to be classified as a "drug" and only be prescribed by a doctor? Are they looking out for your health or to line the pockets of big pharma? Big Pharma controls what your doctors use as medical protocol. More people die of medical malpractice than all the guns in America. We must trust our common sense. When the news begins hyping up a storm to such a degree it forms a panic and people clear the shelves of the stations advertisers, are they looking out for your best interest or sensationalizing an event for profit? We all know their are forces that work to extort our money, lessen our health, remove our religious freedoms, destroy our relationships, and misinform us in areas that negatively effect our lives. It's sold through the music industry, T.V., Hollywood, news, magazines, even health and fitness magazines, schools, etc.. We were told years ago that salt was extremely bad for us. Doctors began putting patients on a no salt, or restricted salt diet. Then hundreds of older people in warmer states started dying from the doctors advice. We are not picking on doctors, we are pointing out the restrictive protocol handed down from drug companies that force them to push drugs over health. Becoming aware of the tactics used gives you the power to act in ways that make you healthier, more intelligent, spiritually strong, and a light in a dark place. This is why we must know what our enemy is up too. They are out to steal your money, health, freedom, and soul. We should all be about helping others gain more of these things. The less of the t.v., radio, news, we spend our time with the smarter, healthier, and more informed we will become.
Control your thoughts. Studies show your thoughts actually effect your health. Many trainers, martial arts masters, special forces operators etc., learn the art of visualization and thought control. When a Martial Arts Master focuses on breaking a stack of boards that would crush the hand of most men, he must control all outside interruptions and negative thoughts. Total and complete focus on the task at hand must be all that is present. Nothing but positive energy can be focused through his body. Letting the problems of everyday life, the negative influences of the world, the inclination of doubt enter his mind will result in failure and a broken limb. This is why the martial arts teaches the practice of breaking boards. It is as much and exercise in mental focus as physical force. With your goals and every aspect of your life that needs to be overcome, applying the controlling of your thoughts is key. Write down how you tend to think about subjects and then train yourself to react better. Example, You get an unexpected bill in the mail. How are you going to think about it? You need to lose a few pounds. How are you going to think about it? You want to earn more money. How are you going to think about it? Someone cuts you off in traffic. How are you allowing yourself to react? A friend does something to hurt you. How can you react? In this way you begin to master your thoughts and not your thoughts and feelings mastering you. Break the pattern of negative thoughts and utilize the power of positive ones. Fate Favors the Prepared Mind!
Knowledge is Power. Many people remain willfully ignorant of the world they live in. This is why they will never become a leader. In fact they ignore their own conscience on most matters. "When you reject the truth, all that's left is a lie." Becoming great at anything is met by resistance. The more you know the more valuable and stronger you become. I.E. a man is forty pounds overweight and the doctor tells him he needs to lose weight. An infomercial comes for the new Ab Doodle Deluxe stating that using the Ab Doodle fifteen minutes a day "along with a healthy diet" may help reduce body fat. Then some fitness model is shown Doodling on the Ab Doodle. An everyday looking Joe is then shown with before and after photos an states "the Ab Doodle helped me lose 30lbs." Failing to mention his meeting with a personal trainer everyday and his special diet designed by a nutritionist. An uninformed individual will believe you can Ab Doodle and lose weight and get abs. They will fall for the infomercial and spend three payments of $19.95... and stay fat! The same mindset applies to the news you listen too, the music, teachers, movies, schools, politicians, a false religion, and all aspects of life. I can't tell you what to learn or believe only that the more you know, the better leader you will be.
Maintain Health and Strength. This section is self evident. Knowledge is power and raw physical power combined with knowledge... is unstoppable power. Bullies in any aspect of life rarely pick on anyone they are unable to defeat. In life it does often come down to physical power in circumstances. We will all grow older and weaker one day. While we have the ability to take a stand for good, physically and mentally, it should be our duty to do so. Make the most of all the years you have of your youth. The enemy will try to take it away from you. Eat this junk food, drink this alcohol, smoke this, drive that, join in this war etc.. Your health, knowledge, fitness, and raw power make you a formidable enemy to bad things in this world. Use it or you will lose it.
Fight the Good Fight. There are both spiritual and physical choices we make each and everyday. We choose which choices we make, good or bad. Many people go through life simply reacting to situation around them. They are not engaged in making positive change. There is a since of pleasure found in doing good. The real "Good" fight is not always self serving. It involves a clear conscience and motives. It stands for justice and freedom for everyone. It brings light to a dark place, it's deeds are pure. The Good Fight involves love, freedom, peace, and joy. The one thing to know for sure, everyday you get up you will face challenges. Fight the Good Fight for your health, mental well being, and spiritual sense of purpose and you will be a greater help to those who really need you.
TELL YOUR MIND THESE THINGS
The pain of victory is short. The pain of defeat can last forever. Tell yourself and make it clear. If it be a good and noble cause, if it be for your well being, survival, goals etc., quitting is not an option.
Carpe Diem. Sieze the Day! Don't wait until tomorrow to go on your diet, plan a vacation, make a goal, or get in shape. Today is the day. Get out a pen an paper and write down what it is you are going to do. Dreams are nice when you are sleeping, but while your awake make some reality happen.
I am what I eat. Tell yourself this and make it clear. You can be an apple and salad body or a Twinkie body. But what you but in your body is what your body will be!
I'm training my mind and body for the long haul. Most people train just for looks and if they don't reach that ten day infomercial result they quit. Tell yourself that you are training for long life and health. Your body will take care of the rest in the way it feels and the great way it looks.
If I don't rest and recover I am no good to no one! Proper rest and recovery is essential to good health and developing the all around mind and body. Plan to structure your thoughts around the idea that you do need rest and recovery. One of the biggest factors to aging and sickness is improper rest.
A STRONG MIND IN A STRONG BODY
Given a powerful enough purpose the mind can accomplish the impossible. We have heard about accidents, where mothers with their children trapped under a car, have beyond human understanding lifted vehicles off their children. Not long ago I watched a video of a hollywood production where a helicopter crashed in a water filled ravine trapping the pilot who was assured to drown. His friend, growing increasingly frustrated with the attempts to free him, somehow in a Hulk like rage lifted the helicopter and freed his friend. What energies lay beyond our rational understanding for mustering power and ability exist? Shoalin Monks have trained their minds and bodies to do incredible feats. Bending Iron rods, breaking baseball bats on their shins etc.. Though I do believe some people are born more stubborn than others it is our environment and experiences that molds our mental toughness. It is a fact that people can be brainwashed and reprogramed to do things outside of what their normal behavior would be. After thirty plus years of sports, physical training, and martial arts practice, I have seen changes take place in both students I have trained and myself. If you were tough you can become tougher, weak you can become stronger, unfocused more focused etc..
A person can be transformed in a very short time to think and act in a programed specific manor. Using a few motivational slogans coupled with extreme physical challenges that reduce the focus of the individual to specific task at hand, the mind can be molded in a way that can affect the way a person behaves for the rest of their life. For example, soldiers are taken to boot camp where they are brought into a controlled environment and broken down mentally and exposed to fear of the instructors. They are then physically run through challenges until so exhausted they can only focus on the survival of the course. Slogans are repeated that become a mindset of the candidate that last a life time. "Marines don't give up." Hoorah, "Pain is just weakness leaving the body." "We never leave a man behind." "Fear is a feeling only our enemies know." "We'll glory in victory, until then we fight." Then a process of building the candidate up takes place where the intimidators begin to tell the soldier he is doing good things. From that point on the mind of the soldier has been altered in thinking forever. Now this same form of mental training takes place in other realms such as becoming a doctor. Vigorous learning and lecturing takes place over a period of years where fear of failure is exasperated. Not only a sense of higher learning takes places but a form of mental hazing exist bolstering the students core instincts to be accepted by a group. Like a soldier, to get the doctor to perform under stress and not crack, they are placed in environments and under stressful and exhausting regiments to get them to carryout the trained techniques without having to think about why. They simply repeat the programed training. The higher the training the higher the performance.
In the martial arts the process is much the same. The student is trained over a long period of time having to learn and perform difficult physical task. They are constantly faced with the idea of victory or defeat, life or death. Constantly being tested to see if they have disciplined themselves in their minds and bodies in such a way as to meet the requirements of certain belt levels. They break boards, face attackers, demonstrate physical conditioning and ability in order to rise in rank and skill. The mind must be able to focus in a way that it does not panic or lose higher mental focus in a situation that could involve physical harm.
That being said, it is good news to know that you can be trained, and train yourself, to think, look, and act like a champion. With the right purpose in mind and the right ability, you can become a Hero to others.
YOUR MENTAL TOUGHNESS IS SHOWN IN AND BY:
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL PAIN BEING HARNESSED AND CONTROLLED
ACTING VALIANTLY DESPITE THE PROBLEM
BRINGING PEACE AND CLARITY AMONGST PANIC AND FEAR
MAINTAINING A DISCIPLINED LIFE DESPITE THE TEMPTATIONS
A MOTTO TO FORGE INTO YOU BRAIN -
"ALWAYS FINISH A GOOD AND NOBLE CAUSE YOU HAVE STARTED"
I.E. if you start this training program, stick with it and accomplish your goals. Then set new goals and accomplish them.
WHAT WILL INCREASE YOU MENTAL ABILITY TO SUCCEED:
Training makes stress, less stressful. Your physical health makes all the difference. In a physically challenging situation the stronger you are the less pain that is experienced. An overweight person will have to exude far more mental toughness to finish a two mile run than a thin person who runs all the time. The overweight untrained person will have a much greater chance of giving up due to physical pain and inability to deal with physical discomfort. Though the trained runner experience less mental stress during a short run they have still developed a mental capacity to deal with physical discomfort. The ability to deal with mental stress has been forged over hours of training.
A wise mentor or system will speed you along. I personally have found the principles of the Bible to be the greatest inspiration and holding the greatest examples of purpose, wisdom, mental clarity of purpose, and mental strength building that exist. The lives and extreme challenges faced by the men and women and their victories through their struggles hold volumes of wisdom to live by.
Create a creed or code of honor that exemplifies who you are and what you will allow yourself to do, say, and act like. Write down yours and add to it as life goes on. It will help to control your thoughts and fears.
A list of mottos that represent your purpose. "there is no challenge I cannot overcome" "I never let fear be my motive" "I am confident in my trust that the Lord will make me victorious" "quitting is not an option" When things get tough, I get tougher." Create for yourself a list of mottos to repeat that will get you through tough situations.
Having faith. It is often an unexplained phenomenon of men and women who have done extraordinary things. Understanding purpose and having faith in a higher force can give you the ability to move past extraordinary fears that would break the average person. Many coaches will tell people to have faith in themselves but I find that to be lacking place to put our faith. Having faith in a God who created everything that exist and can alter every problem we face is a much safer place to place our faith than ourselves. When I was in boot camp for the fire department on our 5:00 a.m. runs I would quote scripture to myself to get me through the pain. "But, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Don't be afraid to live, love, and laugh. Controlling the negative emotions is paramount. Unleashing the positive is equally important. Enjoy everyday life. Laugh at your trials and errors. Love you friends with all your heart and live life now. "A merry heart doeth the body good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22 Laugh and find enjoyment in life whenever possible.
Focus on working toward the goal. Perfection takes time. Don't beat yourself up for not being perfect today but enthusiastic that you are working toward a higher purpose. Encourage yourself in the journey. Enjoy everyday life.
Things right now are great. As long as you are alive and breathing things are great. Remember even in a problematic situation, things could always get worse. You had to walk a mile, it could have been two. The chef didn't prepare the food the way you liked, you could be starving somewhere. Someone cut you off in traffic, you could be too poor to own a car. Someone said something bad about you, you could have just found out you had three days to live! Everyday you are alive is a blessing not to be taken for granted.
Overcoming physical and mental challenges can take you from a soft, weak, follower, into a hard, strong leader capable of handling life's tough challenges.
