The mint and lemon gives plain water a sweet and tart taste making it more palatable for those that don't enjoy drinking plain old, boring non-tasting water. So drop the high-calorie juices and sodas and give this a try for more energy to start your day!
* 8 ounces of water, distilled, spring, or purified (room temperature works best)
* Juice of 1/2 lemon
* 3-4 mint leaves

KALE CHIPS RECIPE
1 head kale, washed and thoroughly dried*
2 tablespoons olive oil
Sea salt, for sprinkling
Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.
Remove the ribs from the kale and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Lay on a baking sheet and toss with the olive oil and salt. Garlic and Seasoning salt are good too. Bake until crisp, turning the leaves halfway through, about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
*Very important the Kale is DRY when you start.
This is one of my favorite juices to make in the morning. It takes about 15 minutes all together to make so its quick and it fires me up all day long. Heck I'm not even all that hungry for the rest of the day because I get so much nutrition out of this juice. It's like Popeye's spinach or Superman's cape.

Tomato-Rich Diet Could Help Protect Against Breast Cancer, Small Study Suggests

Tomatoes could help boost levels of a hormone that plays an important role in sugar and fat metabolism, a small new study suggests, potentially lowering the risk of breast cancer among women already at risk for the condition.
Research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism shows that women who were randomly assigned to eat 10 weeks of tomato products (that contained 25 milligrams of lycopene each day) also experienced higher levels of this metabolism-regulating hormone, adiponectin.
"The advantages of eating plenty of tomatoes and tomato-based products, even for a short period, were clearly evident in our findings," study researcher Adana Llanos, Ph.D., MPH, an assistant professor of epidemiology at Rutgers University, said in a statement. "Eating fruits and vegetables, which are rich in essential nutrients, vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals such as lycopene, conveys significant benefits."
